Maria Hollister, LMSW, IMH EIII

Clinical Social Worker

I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Psychology from Spring Arbor University and then earned my Master’s Degree in Social Work from Michigan State University. I have acquired counseling experience from a variety of treatment settings including private practice, outpatient substance abuse and community based services enabling me to effectively. I serve toddlers, children, adolescents, adults, and families. My approach utilizes a variety of techniques and skills drawn from recognized therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused, Psychoeducation, Play Therapy, Infant Mental Health, behavior modification, mindfulness and relaxation. As a therapist I believe in working in partnership with my clients, utilizing their strengths to help them sort out their challenges and achieve their goals. I also realize how important it is to identify all aspects of an individual’s life that impacts their well-being; including their physical health, support systems (family, friends), work or school environment, and faith/spirituality in this process.
